Job Description:

The purpose of the Student Project Analyst role is to provide support to the management of deliverables from inception through to completion and operational transition of SRCs (Security Risk and Crisis Management) projects. This individual will report to the SRC Program Director and will be accountable of supporting the development and management of initiatives including data collection research and analysis. The individual is accountable to remove barriers and facilitate solutions to achieve project and departmental goals. More strategically this person will be responsible for understanding the objectives of the security functions and leverage best practices and methodology to provide the required solutions.

Second the selected individual is expected to identify plan design and execute on AI/automation opportunities to achieve productivity savings for the SRC VRO and the Security Training and Awareness teams.

Lastly the individual will work with the Training & Awareness team on project-related organizational communications media posts and high school students events.

Accountabilities:

  • Provide end-to-end initiative delivery support including collecting and analyzing information for delivery solutions

  • Work closely with the SRC VRO and key initiative resources to define the project delivery approach; from project intake to conception estimation planning and implementation

  • Assist in the development of project plans that effectively align scope time cost quality resource allocation risk communication and procurement in a manner that enables highly coordinated execution and control

  • Assist the SRC VRO in the implementation of and monitoring of the adherence to project administrative practices and policies

  • Assist with the governance of project budgets by working closely with the SCR Business Office and Finance

  • Present and execute new ideas to improve and/or eliminate current manual processes to improve teams productivity output

  • Organize and maintain effective communication both internal (within project team) and external (with project stakeholders and business partners)

  • Facilitate project task prioritization and decisions ensuring that standard and best practice for project management processes is applied

  • Ensure appropriate organization governance decision making and delivery structures align to outcomes articulated in the business case business requirements and defined program/project charter

  • Flexible to work as required to support global organizational footprint

Skills and Experience Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education / bachelors degree

  • 0 to 2 years of project coordination/project analysis experience or similar accreditation

  • Excellent communication (both written and verbal) with the ability to effectively negotiate with senior stakeholders

  • Excellent with content creation and presentation to small and medium-sized groups and/or key stakeholders

  • Organized focused excellent time management and strong attention to details

  • Mixture of strong business acumen and project delivery skills

  • Ability to resolve or recommend solutions to conflicting situations

  • Ability to comprehend analyze and interpret given information

  • Effective problem-solving and analytical skills with strong process management knowledge

  • A fast and teachable learner

  • Exposure to cybersecurity is a plus

  • Exposure to Lean / Agile / Scrum methodologies with working knowledge of Jira / Confluence is a plus

  • Strong working knowledge of MS Project Visio PowerPoint and Excel

  • Strong sense of Team

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted for. The Base Pay which you will be considered for will vary depending on the Campus program you are selected for.

Eligible Sun Life employees for various Campus Graduate programs will also participate in various incentive plans payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance
