Job Summary
Job Title: Senior Power BI Developer
Location: New York City NY (Hybrid 3 days onsite)
Interview Requirement: In-person interview required
Rate: From $55/hr (W2)
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Power BI Developer with strong expertise in SQL and enterprise data warehousing environments. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience designing and developing Power BI dashboards paginated reports and analytics solutions along with deep Banking / Investment Banking / Credit Risk domain knowledge. This role requires close collaboration with business users and a strong business analysis mindset.
Key Responsibilities
Design develop and maintain Power BI reports dashboards and ad-hoc analytics
Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into reporting solutions
Build and optimize data models using Power Query and Power Pivot
Develop optimize and maintain DAX queries
Create and manage Paginated Reports using Power BI Report Builder
Query and manage data from SQL Server or other relational databases
Ensure performance optimization data accuracy and report usability
Support end-to-end BI solution development across the full project lifecycle
Required Skills (Must-Have)
Strong data modeling experience using Power Query / Power Pivot
Advanced proficiency in DAX
Hands-on experience with Power BI Report Builder and/or Paginated Reports
Advanced SQL skills with relational databases (SQL Server or similar)
Strong domain expertise in Banking Investment Banking and Credit Risk
Preferred Skills (Nice-to-Have)
Experience with Data Flows
Familiarity with Power BI Report Server (PBRS)
Knowledge of Power On
Experience with Snowflake data warehouse
Qualifications
7 years of combined experience in data warehousing business intelligence analytics and reporting
3 years of experience in relational and multidimensional (OLAP) data modeling
Strong understanding of relational and dimensional database structures and query optimization
Knowledge of Fixed Income Equity and Derivative business domains
Proven ability to analyze user requirements recommend solutions and implement them
Self-motivated with strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Experience working across the full project management and development lifecycle
Excellent written verbal presentation and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced high-pressure environment
