Job Summary

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Senior Financial Analyst to join a dynamic and fast-paced energy trading organization. This role offers a unique opportunity to be embedded within front-to-back trading operations supporting financial reporting and strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Manage full-cycle financial reporting and analysis including consolidated reporting journal entries and inventory reconciliations
Lead the month-end close process ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP standards
Interpret trade recaps vessel movements and pipeline/waterborne activity to produce accurate P&L and variance reports
Collaborate cross-functionally with commercial operations and audit teams to provide financial insights and recommendations
Assist in improving internal controls and reporting efficiencies
Support external and internal audit processes ensuring data integrity and timely responses

Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field; CPA or advanced degree a plus
5 years of financial reporting experience within the energy trading industry crude and refined products preferred
Strong understanding of GAAP and trading operations (from deal entry to settlement)
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial systems (ERP ETRM and accounting software)
Ability to thrive under pressure manage deadlines and work both independently and collaboratively
Strong communication and analytical skills with attention to detail and a proactive mindset
