Job Summary
We are seeking Traveling Field Techs to join our team with up to 75% travel! The Field Technician performs skilled installation service and repair of mechanical and electrical systems in field environments.
Field Tech 1: $26- $29/hr
Field Tech 2: $29- $32/hr
Foreman: $32-$35/hr
When field techs (and foreman) are traveling their time will start when they leave their house to go to the airport. Once they are at their destination their time starts when they leave their hotel.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform field installation and commissioning of piping structural supports control panels sensors and process equipment.
- Install wire and troubleshoot electrical control systems including PLCs relays sensors and motor starters.
- Interpret and apply mechanical and electrical schematics to ensure accurate field assembly.
- Conduct testing and calibration of control circuits instruments and safety devices.
- Identify field issues propose corrective actions and implement approved solutions.
- Execute high-quality brazing and TIG/MIG welding on stainless steel copper and aluminum components.
- Complete accurate service reports change orders and installation documentation.
- Coordinate with engineering and project management to ensure field work aligns with design intent and schedules.
- Maintain compliance with OSHA NFPA 70E and company safety requirements.
- Manage tools materials and consumables inventory for assigned field projects.
Qualifications & Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required; technical certificate or associates degree in welding electrical or industrial
- technology strongly preferred.
- 16 years of experience in field installation fabrication or maintenance.
- Proven proficiency in brazing and TIG/MIG welding; welding certifications preferred (AWS D17.1 or equivalent).
- Demonstrated skill in installing and troubleshooting electrical control systems including wiring diagrams and PLC I/O.
- Working knowledge of mechanical systems pumps valves and instrumentation.
- Ability to lead small crews and communicate effectively with customers and supervisors.
- Proficient with basic electrical testing tools (multimeter megger clamp meter).
- Valid drivers license and ability to travel up to 75% of the time.
