Job Summary
Long Term SubstituteELA Teacher
Buerkle Middle School
2025-26
Qualifications:
- Must have active Substitute Certificate from DESE.
- DESE Counselor certification Preferred but not required.
Pay Schedule: The first 10 consecutive days would be paid at a rate of $120 per day. Long term substitute pay begins on the 11th consecutive day of the assignment at $152 per day.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned.
- Follows the regular plans and schedule as closely as possible.
- Try to maintain a neat orderly attractive environment.
- Leave a statement of the work covered together with any comment about special difficulty or outstanding cooperation and work finished.
- Keep accurate attendance records.
- Maintain good classroom discipline.
- Leave equipment in proper place.
- Refrain from discussing teachers methods or ideas in or out of the classroom.
- Refer requests from parents for student progress to the teacher.
- Check teachers mailbox for bulletins announcements and special arrangements.
- Supervise students at all times.
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all students and parental matters.
- Comply with district approved curriculum and adhere to adopted Board of Education policies.
