Our client is seeking the services of an experienced Purchasing Manager to join their procurement division. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the companys sourcing capabilities across the supply chain strategically negotiating with suppliers to secure cost-effective agreements and driving procurement efficiencies. This opportunity offers leadership exposure within a structured and compliance-driven environment.
In order to be considered for this role you must meet the following requirements:
Grade 12
Degree or Diploma in Supply Chain Procurement Finance Economics Law or Engineering
MCIPS qualification will be advantageous
5 8 years experience in Procurement or Supply Chain Management
Strong knowledge of Strategic Sourcing Contract Management and Supplier Relationship Management
Knowledge of the BBBEE Act 53 of 2003
Strong commercial acumen cost analysis and budgeting experience
Advanced computer skills
Valid Code 08 drivers licence
Own vehicle
Willingness to work overtime when required
Key Responsibilities (not limited to):
Managing procurement processes and selecting suppliers based on price quality service lead times BBBEE and trading terms
Managing the procure-to-pay process
Leading and supervising a team of buyers
Developing and implementing purchasing strategies processes and procedures
Negotiating pricing national deals and extended payment terms
Managing supplier relationships and Service Level Agreements
Driving cost savings through tender processes and payment term optimisation
Overseeing supplier onboarding and procurement audits
Ensuring compliance with Procurement Policy and internal controls
Monitoring procurement transactions and analysing spend trends
Providing monthly management reports and commentary
Leading BBBEE audit compliance in terms of preferential procurement
Supporting SHEQ initiatives and HR culture surveys
Ensuring adherence to IT-related procurement processes as per guidelines
