Responsibilities

The Underwriting Services Assistant will provide general operations support to the Underwriting Department including the processing of binders policies endorsements submissions and other client related correspondence for new and existing accounts.

  • Engages with the Underwriting Department to execute binder & policy issuance.
  • Supports underwriting through processing of endorsements and related correspondence.
  • Requests additional information for subjectivities endorsements surplus lines taxes and inspection reports.
  • Issues notices of cancellation non-renewal notices or reinstatements within authority.
  • Responsible for ensuring accurate documentation is in the underwriting file as it relates to binders policies endorsements and other processing tasks.
  • Professionally responds to correspondence via email and phone.
  • Detail oriented and uses sound judgement to problem solve.
  • Maintains a high level of accuracy in upholding policy guidelines and managing underwriting account information.
  • Responsible for new and existing account clearance processing.
  • Ability to prioritize work with little assistance.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of commercial lines insurance experience.
  • Experience with Commercial Insurance is ideal.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Possesses strong analytical and prioritization skills.
  • Proven capability for client servicing.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite.

Education Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Degree Preferred
