Assistant Soccer Coach
Job Summary
The University of Iowa Department of Athletics seeks applications for an Assistant Soccer Coach. This is a full-time (at-will and FLSA-exempt) position which includes full University benefits. Responsibilities: The Assistant Coach is responsible for providing administrative instructional and coaching assistance to the Head Coach with the purpose of building a successful competitive intercollegiate sports program that also retains and graduates student-athletes.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree (or international equivalent);
- Three or more years of demonstrated successful coaching and player development experience in the sport of soccer at the collegiate/national/professional level
- Specialized experience in goalkeeping offensive or defensive coaching;
- Professional experience working effectively with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and perspectives demonstrating strong interpersonal skills and ability to build trusting relationships;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Ability to work effectively in a highly regulated team environment;
A valid U.S. driving license and the ability to meet and maintain University of Iowa Driving Policy standards.
Desirable Qualifications:- At least three years of successful coaching experience at the NCAA level;
- Demonstrated specific experience in goalkeeper and field player development;
- Demonstrated experience in international and domestic talent assessment and proven ability to effectively communicate with and successfully recruit elite-level student-athletes;
- Demonstrated experience in designing opponent scouting reports and a player development plan;
- Working knowledge and the ability to:
- utilize a video analysis system such as sports code spiideo and hudl
- plan and administer a recruiting calendar
- develop and manage camp curriculum and administration; assist with coaching and instruction at camps and clinics.
- Genuine passion for and experience with supporting the holistic development of student-athletes recognizing the interconnectedness of mental health and overall well-being.
