As a Principal Software Engineer at JPMorganChase within the Corporate Risk Technology team you you provide expertise and engineering excellence as an integral part of an agile team to enhance build and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure stable and scalable way. Leverage your advanced technical capabilities and collaborate with colleagues across the organization to drive best-in-class outcomes across various technologies to support one or more of the firms portfolios.
You will help build a stateoftheart data platform that delivers trusted timely and wellgoverned risk data at scale across the firm. You will shape the foundation for advanced analytics and future AI/ML capabilities by driving strong data modeling quality lineage interoperability and secure resilient services.
Job responsibilities
- Owns product strategy and roadmap and maintains effective communication with stakeholders
- Contributes to the development of technical methods in specialized fields in line with the latest product development methodologies
- Creates complex and scalable coding frameworks using appropriate software design frameworks
- Develops secure and high-quality production code and reviews and debugs code written by others
- Advises cross-functional teams on technological matters within your domain of expertise
- Serves as the functions go-to subject matter expert
- Creates durable reusable software frameworks that are leveraged across teams and functions
- Influences leaders and senior stakeholders across business product and technology teams
- Champions the firms culture of diversity opportunity inclusion and respect
Required qualifications capabilities and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and expert applied experience
- Hands-on practical experience delivering system design application development testing and operational stability
- Strong technical fluency: able to evaluate designs facilitate architecture reviews and translate engineering constraints into clear product decisions
- Practical proficiency in at least one programming language - Python or Java
- Experience applying expertise and new methods to determine solutions for complex technology problems in one or more technical disciplines
- Experience leading a product as a Product Owner or Product Manager
- Ability to present and effectively communicate with Senior Leaders and Executives
- Understanding of the business
- Experience in Computer Science Computer Engineering Mathematics or a related technical field
Preferred qualifications capabilities and skills
- Domain fluency in risk and finance
- Cloud platform familiarity (AWS/Databricks)
- Experience with enterprise data platforms such as data lake warehouse and lakehouse
- Knowledge of data governance quality and lineage tooling and practices (DQ frameworks metadata catalogs lineage capture)
