The patients on this unit represent a diverse adult population with a wide range of complex medical problems including cardiovascular pulmonary endocrine neurological psychosocial and infectious disease.
The nursing skills developed on this unit are endless; physical and psychosocial assessment telemetry complex dressing changes peritoneal dialysisetc. Collaboration with other health care professionals across disciplines is fundamental to nursing practice on White 8. Responsibilities include assuring competent compassionate nursing care for specific patients and families.
The RN will collaborate with the Nurse Director and Clinical Nurse Specialist and other members of the Patient Care Team to achieve optimal Patient outcomes. The Clinical Nurse Specialist role is unit based and that unique as compared to many other hospitals.

Qualifications
Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
BSN degree is strongly preferred
1-2 years of experience

Essential Functions
-Maintain accurate detailed reports and records.
-Administer medications to patients and monitor patients for reactions or side effects.
-Record patients medical information and vital signs.
-Monitor record and report symptoms or changes in patients conditions.
-Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess plan implement or evaluate patient care plans.
-Modify patient treatment plans as indicated by patients responses and conditions.

- Ability to maintain confidentiality and secure sensitive information.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Excellent verbal and communication skills.
- Ability to accurately screen and triage acute patients.
