Job Summary: The Medical Surgical Registered Nurse provides direct patient care in an acute care setting delivering safe and effective nursing services to adult patients while collaborating with the interdisciplinary healthcare team.

Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive patient assessments and implement individualized care plans.
Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders.
Monitor patient status and respond appropriately to changes in condition.
Provide patient and family education regarding treatment and discharge planning.
Document care accurately in the electronic medical record system.

Requirements
Minimum 2 years of Medical Unit/MedSurg experience.
Minimum 2 years of Registered Nurse experience.
Must have a strong MedSurg background.
Ability to float to Mount Sinai Hospital and/or Mount Sinai West as needed.
EPIC EMR experience highly preferred.
Unit details: Average census 22 29 patients; staffing ratio approximately 1:6.

Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Certifications: AHA BLS.

License: Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) License.
