Short Description
Direct responsibility for the daily operations of assigned department(s); including but not limited to: overseeing daily practice operations recruitment retention adherence to policies and procedures support ongoing education of staff ensure compliance with policies and procedures and responsible for fiscal responsibility of unit/department.
Overview
Kelemen 8 is a medical-surgical unit that cares for patients with a wide variety of diagnoses illnesses and disease processes. North and South 8 have telemetry capabilities for our patients. Kelemen 8 has frequent admissions and discharges.
Kelemen 8 can accept a total of 77 patients. The North side houses 37 patients and the South side houses 36 patients. There are two negative pressure rooms with an anti-room.
There is a pharmacist present on the unit to assist the RNs with medication questions/concerns. Multidisciplinary rounds occur every Monday through Friday. Rounds involve all aspects of the healthcare team including the patient and family
Experience Required
- 3- 5 years of clinical nursing experience with demonstrated leadership abilities. 6-10 years preferred.
- Requires strong planning skills and a solid understanding of Patient and Family Centered Care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.
Education Requirements
- Graduate from an NLN accredited school of nursing.
- BSN required.
- MSN preferred
License/Certification Requirements
- Current New Jersey license as a Registered Nurse BLS certification.
- National certification preferred within area of specialty for critical care operating room endoscopy and trauma.
- Certain specialties may require advanced certification (i.e. ACLS NRP PALS).
Certification within specialty area preferred (CCRN CMSRN CNOR CEN PCCN CNML
