Employment Term: Maximum Term to 12 March 2027 Part-Time (38 hours per fortnight)
Location: Caboolture
Remuneration: $51 per hour Super NFP Salary Packaging (save tax and increase your take home pay)

Your part in our UnitingCare team
Part of the UnitingCare Community Mental Health Program the Specialist Child and Family program strives to support children who are having a challenging time and help them find positive ways to move forward. The program also aims to help parents and carers cope with their own issues and find ways to better support their child.
The Child & Family Counsellor position aims:
To increase the stability of out-of-home care placements by providing emotional support and practical assistance to children young people aged 3 to 18 and their carers.
Provide psychoeducation and skill development to carers at times of distress or where behaviours cause disruption to the childs/young persons living situation.
Key Responsibilities
To provide individual child-centered therapy
Support children with developing life skills and social skills
Provide support and psychoeducation to carers and stakeholders where needed in order to increase parenting skills wrap around support for the child and increase connection and relationship building skills for carers
Providing support including knowledge connection and relationship building strategies with an emphasis on resources to birth and/or extended families and foster carers to increase their skills and relationships with the child/young person
Prepare high quality written reports and case notes
Facilitate warm referrals to other services in collaboration with Child Safety
A bachelors degree or higher in Counselling Psychology Social Sciences or Social Work
Demonstrated knowledge of childhood development and connection and relationship building strategies with an emphasis on related issues to trauma abuse and attachment
Applicants who have qualifications and experience in Child-canteredPlayTherapy(CCPT) are highly desirable
Current Drivers License
Working with Children Check (Blue Card)
Applicants who have qualifications and experience in Child-CentredPlayTherapy(CCPT) are highly desirable.
