The Eastern Territorial Headquarters has an opening for a Territorial Pathway of Hope (POH) Coordinator. This position will advance the vision and long-term growth of the POH initiative by guiding implementation and territorial expansion. This role strengthens The Salvation Armys integrated Christian ministry by ensuring consistent application of POH principles across the territory while fostering innovation promoting best practices and aligning efforts with the mission and strategic priorities and long-term planning of the organization.

This position based in West Nyack NY requires approximately 35 hours of work per week and is onsite.

Responsibilities

POH Expansion and Technical Assistance

Collaborate with the Assistant Territorial Social Ministries Director and divisional staff to promote consistent POH implementation across the Eastern Territory.

Contribute to territorial strategic planning by analyzing expansion trends identifying gaps and recommending approaches that strengthen POHs long-term sustainability.

Support the onboarding and expansion of new POH sites including coordination of training schedules materials and follow-up support.

Monitor implementation efforts identify emerging needs and help develop readiness assessments in partnership with field staff.

Provide guidance and informal leadership to Regional Coordinators and case management staff through modeling mentorship and subject matter expertise.

Serve as a resource to divisions on national POH expectations and support ongoing alignment with the National Expansion Plan (NEP).

Drive expansion of POH by supporting onboarding of new sites cultivating readiness and equipping divisions with tools for sustainable growth and measurable impact

Regional Coordinator Support and Professional Development

Coordinate and monitor professional development plans for Regional Coordinators (RCs) identify training needs facilitating skill-building opportunities and promoting continued learning aligned with POH goals.

Design and coordinate structured development opportunities for RCs including peer mentoring thematic learning cycles individualized development plans and contribution to a shared resource library.

Assist in planning processes by preparing data-driven updates and strategic summaries for internal leadership discussions

Facilitate reflection and feedback mechanisms that support RCs in their growth as subject matter leaders.

Integrate insights from RC professional development into strategic recommendations for future training and territorial growth.

Partner with the Assistant Territorial Social Ministries Director to ensure RCs have access to relevant resources mentorship and development pathways.

Maintain documentation of RC development activities and outcomes to inform future planning and growth.

Develop resources that ensure fidelity to the POH model and inspire continuous improvement innovation and vision alignment across divisions.

Coordination and Communication

Facilitate regular meetings of the POH Regional Coordinator team including group sessions and one-on-ones maintaining key documentation and action tracking.

Coordinate the development dissemination and maintenance of territorial POH communications and resource materials.

Assist with the preparation of updates and summaries for internal leadership and territorial meetings.

Training and Resource Development

Contribute to the creation of tools templates guides and best practice models that enhance the quality and fidelity of POH implementation.

Deliver in-person and virtual training sessions for POH staff and divisional leadership ensuring clear and consistent application of the model.

Maintain a library of accessible POH expansion resources and support the sharing of success stories and lessons learned across divisions.

Collaboration and Mission Support

Assist in compiling materials and data for funder reports storytelling and expansion casemaking in coordination with the Territorial CRD Department.

Strengthen territorial capacity for growth by collaborating across departments integrating POH into broader ministry strategies and advancing shared goals of family stability and long-term transformation.

Collaboration across departments to ensure POH growth strategies are embedded in broader territorial strategic planning and mission initiatives.

National Engagement

Support preparations for National POH Committee meetings and contribute insights that represent territorial field needs and successes.

Partner with counterparts from other territories to exchange strategies and reinforce alignment with national goals.

Contribute to national strategy conversations by sharing insights lessons learned and innovative practices from the Eastern Territory that shape the future direction and growth of POH nationally.

Qualifications

Bachelors degree

3-5 years of related experience.

Experience administering a variety of social service programs in a Christian environment is preferred.

Requires commitment to biblical Christian principles and teachings as they influence the regard for the individual the delivery of services in a respectful and compassionate manner and a hope for future restoration and change of individuals families and communities. A commitment to serve mankind within a framework of justice and dignity along with an understanding of the challenge of advocacy and marginalized segments of society.

Knowledge of the principles and practices of Social Service Program Administration including laws and regulations governing social services agencies (e.g. HIPAA).

Knowledge of relevant psychological and sociological evidence-based practice and its effective application (e.g. client-centered counseling family systems theory motivational interviewing stages of change strengths-based practice etc.).

Knowledge of the principles and practices of effective policy report and technical writing including documents for publication.

Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships and communicate appropriately at all levels within and outside of the organization to educate and influence others to achieve desired results of social service programs and enhance/emphasize the mission of The Salvation Army.

Knowledge of acceptable practices for soliciting administering and managing private foundation corporate and government funds and ensuring funds acquired through grants and contracts are properly secured reported managed and protected to maximize funding opportunities for The Salvation Army throughout the territory.

Ability to serve as a technical expert resource and liaison to administration at the territorial and divisional level as well as to local units.

Proficiency in oral and written English that is adequate for functioning in an English-speaking context.

Comfortability in the effective training of personnel in both in-person and remote contexts.

Experience in preparing and delivering engaging and effective oral presentations to a range of audiences utilizing relevant communication technology.

Knowledge of social service program delivery case management practices and evidence-based approaches (e.g. motivational interviewing stages of change client-centered planning).

Familiarity with POH-specific platforms such as Community Services (WellSky) and reporting systems.

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with divisional staff officers and territorial departments.

Proficiency in MS Office Zoom SurveyMonkey and other collaborative tools.

Ability to communicate the vision of POH clearly and persuasively at all levels inspiring alignment and commitment across the territory.

Ability to contribute to strategic planning processes by synthesizing data trends and field insights into actionable recommendations.
