POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting directly to the Director of Finance the Digital and IT Strategic Advisor serves as a trusted advisor for aligning complex high-impact technology initiatives to Westbank First Nation (WFN) risks near-term and long-term goals. This role combines business and technical leadership expertise with strategic planning stakeholder engagement disciplined program design and management. The individual will work on assessing designing and prioritizing the WFN technology portfolio and enterprise architecture ensuring investments are optimized based on WFN strategic plans risk management and operating effectiveness. Driving from concept to successful plan implementation and communications will involve engaging across all WFN leadership and close collaboration with the Director of Finance.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Bachelors degree in Information Technology Computer Science or Business Management
Masters Degree preferred
Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in digital and IT technology strategy innovation and leadership for real estate or municipal organizations across finance asset management development engineering construction operations and property management.
Professional designation including CPA CMC with an understanding of Capital Planning and Operational Finance Enterprise Architecture Enterprise Risk Management Business Process Optimization and Cybersecurity.
Experience working in a local government or with First Nations is an asset
Equivalent combination of education training and experience may be considered

REQUIREMENTS
Criminal Record Check with results acceptable to WFN
Maintains a high level of confidentiality and uses discretion on all matters relating to the affairs of the Westbank First Nation

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILTIES
Acts as a strategic advisor to executive leadership and IT leadership on technology strategy investment planning and modernization initiatives
Aligns business objectives and facilitates executive decision making through developing digital innovation and technology strategies roadmaps and recommended programs of related projects through business case analysis including risk assessment process optimization change management and technology recommendations
Provides leadership and structured communications on WFNs current state roadmaps programs incorporating enterprise architecture (business IT municipal infrastructure OT) risk management cybersecurity cloud data AI and digital transformation
Reviews current technology scope strategy operating model plans budgets processes proposals assessments technical architecture projects vendors security and compliance
Reviews change management activities including communications training and transition to operations
Performs all duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Finance

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
Strong understanding of municipal or real estate portfolio management technology and operational environments
Proven ability to communicate complex organizational performance and technical concepts to non-technical audiences
Demonstrates a high degree of confidentiality in interpersonal interaction
Strategic thinking and analytical problem-solving
Effectively engages executives business technical teams and partners to build alignment facilitate discussions and translate input into clear communications priorities and plans
Working knowledge of the history of colonization in Canada and its ongoing impact on modern issues affecting Indigenous Peoples
Working knowledge in communicating with Indigenous Peoples demonstrating sensitivity and empathy and awareness of how language choices can influence and impact conversations
