The DCCEEW IT Team is a highly collaborative digital and data organisation driving wholeofdepartment transformation through modern platforms strong governance and innovative technology solutions. With major programs spanning AI cyber uplift enterprise architecture data platforms and largescale digital service delivery the team plays a critical role in enabling climate action environmental protection and sustainable energy and water outcomes.

Abou the role

As Principal Project Manager you will:

  • Leading the delivery of complex ICT programs and projects aligned with the departments strategic goals.
  • Establish and maintain strong governance risk assurance and benefitsrealisation frameworks; oversee integrated schedules budgets resources and stagegate processes.
  • Coordinate and influence crossfunctional SMEs (Park Operations Digital Content Architecture Cyber Infrastructure) to drive customercentred accessible and policyaligned digital outcomes.
  • Lead structured vendor engagement and endtoend contract management in line with NSW Government procurement requirements ensuring value for money and performance compliance.
  • Translate research insights and options analysis into a clear evidencebased and costed strategy supported by implementation roadmaps and highquality briefings for executives and decision forums.

About you:

You are a seasoned program/project leader who can set direction bring people with you and deliver measurable outcomes in a complex stakeholder rich environment. Specifically you will demonstrate:

  • Deep experience delivering digital transformation initiatives using Agile or hybrid methods.
  • Proven track record leading options analysis and business casing and converting insights into executable roadmaps.
  • Strong vendor management and government procurement experience (RFTs evaluation onboarding performance).
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement across technical and nontechnical groups; clear concise executive communication.
  • Commitment to customer centred design accessibility and inclusive services.

Essential requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent experience in project/program management information systems or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated success leading complex digital programs in large organisations including governance budget risk and benefits management.

Nice to have:

  • Experience working within NSW Government (or comparable public sector) frameworks and procurement processes.
  • Relevant project management certification such as PMP PRINCE2 Practitioner or Agile PM would also be ideal.
