Job Summary

Policy and Services Lead

At the NSW Department of Education we educate and inspire lifelong learners from early childhood through schooling to vocational education and training.

  • Ongoing / Full-Time
  • Located in Parramatta with flexible working arrangements available
  • Clerk Grade 9/10 - $129464 to $142665 plus superannuation and leave loading

About the role

  • Lead complex policy design and service delivery that strengthens performance and accreditation outcomes for school-based staff
  • Influence stakeholders across the department to drive practical policy solutions service improvement and shared outcomes
  • Deliver high-quality advice briefs and reports that support sound decision-making and government priorities

The Policy and Services Lead is responsible for the development delivery and implementation of performance and accreditation policy initiatives that support school-based staff. The role is also responsible for the planning and delivery of quality services to customers aligned to operational excellence standards across the department.

About you

  • Strong experience leading complex policy or service initiatives within a large regulated organisation translating strategy into practical outcomes
  • Proven ability to engage and influence diverse stakeholders balancing competing priorities to achieve shared goals
  • Produce clear high-quality briefs reports and advice for senior leaders grounded in evidence policy and risk awareness
  • Confident working within governance frameworks managing risk performance and accountability to deliver measurable results
  • Demonstrate sound judgement resilience and adaptability in fast-paced environments with a commitment to continuous improvement
  • Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Departments Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Departments Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.

Note: the selection process will include a range of assessment techniques to assist in determining your suitability for the role. Successful candidates will be required to undertake pre-employment screening for this role which includes a National Criminal History Check.

Renewal is not required after the WWCC expires as long as you remain in a nonchild-related role. Employer obligations only apply while the WWCC is valid.
