Job Summary:

The Photo Finish Operator and Timer shall determine the official time of each race and shall verify the race time recorded by the racetracks hybrid timing device. Should the timing device malfunction the time shown on the watch of the timer shall be the official time of the race. Additionally the job entails operating the photo finish system to ensure the proper order of finishers is posted in each race by the Placing Judges. Responsible for supporting the Companys mission vision and values by providing an unparalleled experience of fun and entertainment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Lead by example.
Responsible for maintaining a high degree of hospitality as well as a positive and professional demeanor at all times.
Creates high levels of morale fosters teamwork inspires collaboration and provides suggestions for growth to management.
Operating photo finish and timing equipment during racing
Using a stopwatch to hand time the race simultaneously in the event of a timing malfunction.
Troubleshoot photo finish equipment malfunctions with the assistance of the vendor.

Required Qualifications:

High School Diploma GED or equivalent
At least one (1) year of experience as a Racing Official or similar educational background
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to maintain a calm composed presence in an often challenging environment where multiple tasks and events may occur simultaneously.
The highest of moral integrity and a strong work ethic.
Must be able to pass Canterbury Parks pre-employment screening which includes a criminal background check and verification of work history.
Must be able to attain a Minnesota Racing Commission (MRC) license.
Must be registered with the Horseracing Integrity and Safety Authority (HISA) as a Covered Person.
