Description

Through the National Shipbuilding Strategy (NSS) the Government of Canada has embarked on one of the largest procurement projects since the Second World War. The NSS is a nation-building effort to create a sustainable Canadian shipbuilding industry secure long-term job opportunities and build the next generation of ships for the Canadian Coast Guard and Royal Canadian Navy. Through its NSSrelated work Seaspan Shipyards is leading the redevelopment of our domestic shipbuilding industry on the West Coast and delivering on the promise of ships built in Canada by Canadians.

Reporting to the Senior Financial Analyst the Finance Intern supports the delivery of weekly and monthly capital financial reports at Seaspan Shipyards. This position collaborates with teams across operating divisions to consolidate financial data analyze results and communicate insights clearly. Strong attention to detail excellent interpersonal skills flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities are essential for success in this role.

Note: Due to business needs this position is required to be fully on-site based at 2 Pemberton Avenue North Vancouver.

What youll do
Assist in the preparation of internal operational financial reports and analysis
Assist in the quarterly forecasting and annual budgeting processes
Support fixed asset records data collection and reconciliation between systems
Help develop and improve detailed processes and procedures for capital projects management
Perform additional ad-hoc analysis and other duties as assigned

What youll bring
Enrollment in a degree program in Finance or Accounting
12 years of experience in business or financial analysis or project management with preference for experience in a complex multi-business environment
Ability to work well under pressure and prioritize multiple tasks to meet aggressive deadlines
Very strong attention to detail critical thinking problem-solving and analytical skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate with tact and diplomacy
Ability to capture and synthesize data into relevant metrics and measures for analysis
Enjoy a hands-on role and digging into the details
Proactive and self-motivated to learn new concepts and participate in new projects

We require a full-time commitment Monday-Friday 40 hours per week with an hourly rate of $26.00/hour.

Start Date of Internship: Monday May 4th 2026.
End Date of Internship: Friday December 18th 2026 (8-Months).
