Equestrian Student Support staff to provide individualized support during equestrian practices and competitions. This role focuses on ensuring student safety supporting engagement and promoting successful participation in equestrian activities.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain close physical proximity to the student while they are working with a horse to support safety and participation.
Assist in calming and managing the horse in unpredictable or high-stimulation situations in coordination with trainers and staff.
Provide simplified clear instructions to the student as needed.
Check frequently for student understanding and clarify directions when necessary.
Support the student in staying on task and on track with practice routines drills and competition activities.
Collaborate with equestrian staff coaches and supervisors to ensure consistent support strategies are used.
Monitor the students engagement and safety throughout practices and competitions and respond promptly to concerns.
Qualifications
Experience working with horses and familiarity with equestrian environments strongly preferred.
Experience supporting individuals with additional learning or support needs is preferred.
Ability to remain calm focused and responsive in dynamic or unpredictable situations.
Strong communication skills and the ability to provide clear simplified instructions.
Reliability flexibility and attentiveness to safety at all times.
Work Environment
This position involves working outdoors and in equestrian settings and requires comfort being in close proximity to horses during practices and competitions.
HOURLY RATE OF PAY: $20.00 PER HOUR
