Job Summary

Grain Logistics Assistant

GENERAL PURPOSE:

TheGrain Assistant provides administrative and logistics support for the ArmstrongDivision ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently accurate andconfidential manner. Thisrole is essential to maintaining smooth operations and continuity within thegrain department by prioritizing and fulfilling daily work requirements. TheGrain Assistant also plays a proactive role in identifying and recommendingimprovements to departmental procedures and practices.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide relief coverage forGrain Logistics Supervisor as required.

Assist with troubleshootingin grain when issues arise to ensure smooth and efficient operations.

Create tickets for truckshipments send advisements to carriers and suppliers.

Assist with the coordination of truck movement to maintainadequate grain inventory levels and ensure consistent grain quality.

Create purchase orders toaccrue freight for truck and grain shipments.

Ensure all shipments arecompleted accurately and review documents from accounts payable for processing.

Assigns loads to appropriategrain contracts.

Create and maintain deliveryschedules for truck deliveries for the grain department.

Liaise with internal andexternal customers and carriers delivering excellent customer service.

Assist with the dailyreconciliation of the Rogers Foods grain position.

Assists with byproductinventory tracking and updating byproducts schedule as required.

Recommend improvements inprocedures and practices in the department.

Ensures that all theby-products for both Armstrong and Chilliwack divisions are moved in anefficient and timely manner to preventa forced plant shutdown.

Assist with producing theweekly shipping schedule for byproducts send advisements to carriers andsuppliers with their schedules. Update all records and send notifications whenchanges are made.

Adjusts work schedule toaccommodate changing priorities and deadlines.

Follow Good ManufacturingPractices (GMPS) while performing tasks in production areas.

Responsible for compliancewith Canada Labour Occupational Health and Safety requirements and

company safety standards.

Perform all other work related tasks consistent with skills andexperience as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

Grade 12 or equivalent.

Experience in grain.

Ability to work both independently and with ateam.

Advanced computer skills with a workingknowledge of Microsoft Office applications experience with D365 an asset.

Strong work ethic with a high level of trustand integrity.

Excellent problem solving ability.

Demonstrates initiative.

Exceptional time management and organizationalskills.

Ability to take ownership of multiplepriorities and deadlines in a fast paced environment.

Strong attention to detail and ability to adaptquickly to changing environments.

Self-motivated team player with above averageinterpersonal communication and customer service skills

Ability to create and maintain trusted internaland external business relationships.
