As a Global Logistics Operations Senior Specialist at CEVA Air & Ocean Portugal you will play a pivotal role within the 4PL Control Tower division leading and optimising logistics operations on a global scale. This senior-level position demands a high degree of expertise in managing complex logistics workflows and coordinating cross-functional teams to ensure the smooth and efficient movement of goods worldwide.
This role is based in Porto/Perafita and offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic fast-paced environment where your decisions and expertise contribute directly to our operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
What are you going to do
- Manage and oversee end-to-end global logistics operations ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Coordinate with carriers third-party logistics providers and internal stakeholders to optimise transportation and warehouse operations.
- Monitor operational performance metrics to identify gaps implement corrective actions and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead and mentor junior logistics specialists fostering a collaborative and high-performance team environment.
- Analyse supply chain data to support decision-making processes related to cost reduction efficiency and risk management.
- Support the deployment of digital tools and innovative solutions to enhance visibility tracking and reporting.
- Collaborate closely with commercial and customer service teams to align logistics operations with client expectations and contractual obligations.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations for senior management on operational performance challenges and proposed solutions.
- Drive compliance with health safety and environmental standards throughout logistics processes.
what are we looking for
- Proven experience in global logistics operations preferably within a 4PL or similar logistics environment.
- Strong knowledge of international transportation regulations freight forwarding customs procedures and supply chain management.
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities with experience in leading operational teams.
- Proficiency in logistics software systems and data analysis tools.
- Strong communication skills in English both written and verbal to liaise effectively with global stakeholders.
- Commitment to high ethical standards attention to detail and customer-focused mindset.
