Head of Settlements

We are supporting a leading global financial services organization in identifying an experienced Head of Settlements to join their International Operations function. This is a pivotal leadership position responsible for ensuring the accuracy timeliness and control of settlement processes across multiple asset classes and global markets. The role sits within a highperforming fastpaced operational environment that plays a critical part in safeguarding the firms operational integrity client service and regulatory compliance.

As the Head of Settlements you will oversee endtoend settlement workflows manage operational risk drive automation and process improvements and lead a team responsible for the smooth execution of posttrade activities across Equities Bonds FX Prime Services and Crypto. You will act as a senior escalation point while collaborating closely with internal business partners technology teams and external market infrastructures.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing the settlement lifecycle for global financial transactions ensuring timely and accurate completion across Equities Bonds FX Prime and Crypto.
• Overseeing reconciliation payment processing exception management and tradedate monitoring.
• Ensuring strong operational risk management through existing controls while designing new controls to strengthen the framework.
• Monitoring and resolving tradedate exceptions and settlement breaks escalating issues where appropriate.
• Supporting process enhancements and system improvements to reduce manual intervention and increase efficiencies.
• Driving crosstraining within the team to minimise knowledge gaps and enhance resilience.
• Collaborating with internal stakeholders - including Trading Technology Risk Finance - and external parties such as custodians brokers and clearing agents.
• Participating in strategic initiatives and projects including system upgrades operational transformation efforts and new business onboarding.

You will work with a broad suite of settlement reconciliation and marketinfrastructure platforms including:

• Phase3 STN Intellimatch/Duco
• Euroclear DTC Crest GUI
• Global One SAFE Financials Kyriba
• Fidessa FXL BI tools Total Messaging
• Prime and crypto settlement tools (Talos Tether Fireblocks Coinbase Bitstamp Kraken Gemini)

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Significant experience in Settlements PostTrade Operations Middle Office or a similar function within financial markets.
• Strong product knowledge across Equities Bonds FX Prime and digital asset settlement flows.
• Deep understanding of operational controls reconciliation processes and riskmitigation practices.
• Excellent analytical capability attention to detail and strong problemsolving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a highvolume highpressure production environment.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders across global teams.
• Leadership experience including team development coaching and fostering a culture of operational excellence.
• A proactive adaptable mindset and comfort working in evolving technologydriven operational environments.
