Coordinates activities and flow of work for an assigned function unit or area within the Sterile Processing and Distribution area.

Job Description:

What Youll Do:

  • Prioritizes multiple tasks and projects to ensure timely completion. Delegates and assigns work commensurate with knowledge skill and experience and ensures the work is performed appropriately.
  • Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to assist with problem identification and resolution cost containment issues implementation of new services and systems/performance measures.
  • Facilitates the development implementation and evaluation of program or area services and initiatives including training on product usage maintenance and infection control.
  • Serves as a resource to staff regarding departmental/area policies procedures and services regarding decontamination processing selection and distribution of medical products. Performs functions of underlying job.

What Youll Bring:

  • Certification as Certified Registered Sterilization Technician (CRCST) through HSPA (Healthcare Sterile Processing Association) or as Sterile Processing & Distribution Technician (CSPDT) through The Certificate Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution Inc. (CBSD) required.
  • Certified Endoscope Reprocessor (CER) - Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) or Certified Flexible Endoscope Reprocessor (CFER) - Certification Board for Sterile Processing Certification Board (CBSPD) required.
  • Certified Healthcare Leader (CHL) - Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) or The Certificate Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution Inc. (CBSD) required within 2 years.
  • Certified Instrument Specialist (CIS) - Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) required.

This position will play a pivotal role in upholding the highest standards of patient safety and care at both of our key sites helping MaineGeneral continue its mission of health and excellence.
