• Manage daily liquidity needs of client portfolios given unique portfolio objectives and liquidity targets.
• Identify execute and monitor investment opportunities across various asset types including but not limited to Money Market Funds Treasury Bills Agency Discount Notes Commercial Paper and Reverse Repurchase Agreements.
• Oversee collateral management function by selecting and optimizing collateral for statutory deposits liquidity lines funding agreement/securities-based lending programs derivatives and other uses.
• Oversee Securities Lending Program. Monitor positions activity and P&L. Identify recommend and implement revenue enhancement and risk mitigation strategies.
• Identify evaluate and execute cost-efficient funding strategiessuch as Repurchase Agreements liquidity facilities and other secured or unsecured financing channelsto optimize the firms borrowing costs and support portfolio needs.
• Support reporting and monitoring efforts for collateral management asset warehousing and funding platforms
• Develop and maintain a Liquid Markets relative value framework regularly communicating ideas and investment opportunities to portfolio managers and other constituents.
• Expand capabilities in Liquid Markets by researching evaluating and recommending new asset types investment strategies and trading platforms.
• Build and maintain relationships with external trading partners and vendors capturing and communicating relevant research trade ideas and execution strategies.
• Establish and maintain external trading accounts approved issuer/fund lists and process documentation.
• Prepare and conduct monthly portfolio performance reviews periodic asset class risk reviews peer analyses and ongoing fund due diligence reviews.
• Drive enhancement of investment processes technology analytics and reporting capabilities including portfolio monitoring and cash flow forecasting.
• Serve as back-up to Rates trader/portfolio manager.
• Perform ad hoc projects analysis and other roles as requested across Nationwide Investments.
• Reports to Senior Investment Professional - Liquid Markets.

This position will be hired on a SuccessFlex basis.

The hired associate must reside within 35 miles of the following location:

Columbus: One Nationwide Plaza Columbus OH 43215

Work schedule: 3 days in office 2 days remote.

The Enterprise Portfolio Management - Senior Investment Analyst assists in the development and communication of investment strategy and portfolio management activities for general account separate account and third-party multi-asset class portfolios. The role is directly involved in supporting cross market relative value analysis interest rate positioning asset allocation and monitoring of performance and compliance within investment policies and guidelines for client portfolios.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

• Works independently and has limited oversight. Has an experienced understanding of relative value interest rate risk management asset allocation and performance and attribution.

• Provides input into the development of cross market relative value duration and curve positioning and overall asset allocation decisions to achieve multiple client objectives and outperform benchmarks and peers.

• Gathers analyzes monitors and disseminates quantitative and qualitative data about the macroeconomic and market trends as well as the various asset classes including government securities spread product equities currencies and alternatives.

• Develops and maintains financial models to provide critical signals and insights in rates bonds and equities in both domestic and international markets.

• Monitor general account portfolio performance cashflows and asset allocation providing analytical and administrative support to portfolio managers.

• Monitor policy limits risk guidelines and tracks supportable rates.

• Develops and maintains relationships with internal business partners to help ensure effective development communication and execution of investment strategy.

• May communicate investment strategy with internal business partners.

• Prepares materials and reporting to facilitate communication of investment strategy.

May perform other duties as assigned.

Typical Skills and Experiences:

Education: Undergraduate degree. MBA MS or MA in business administration economics finance or CFA preferred.

Experience: 4 to 7 years of investment experience.

Knowledge Abilities and Skills:

• Must be particularly well-organized responsible capable of delivering requests on time and able to multi-task

• Command of research skills necessary to analyze financial market and macroeconomic trends

• Strong functional capability with Microsoft Office (Excel Word PowerPoint) Bloomberg thinkFolio
