We are looking for an Occupational Health and Safety co-op student to join our Health and Safety for a 4-month placement.
Support the ATCO Gas & Pipelines Health & Safety team by assisting with safety communications field activities data analysis and onboarding materials. Gain handson experience with safety programs inspections and industry regulatory requirements.
Who you are:
Mustbe enrolled in aco-op (or internship) program at a recognized Canadian university.
Enrolled in an OHS science engineering or related program
Strong communication and organizational skills
Comfortable working in both field and office environments
Basic data analysis skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office
Valid Class 5 drivers license

What you will do:
- Create safety campaign materials and update safety content in systems like Intelex and SharePoint
- Assist with facility and field inspections documenting hazards and verifying controls
- Participate in field tailgate meetings and team meetings to support safety initiatives
- Analyze safety statistics and contribute to reporting and trend identification
- Support onboarding by preparing orientation and training materials
- Conduct legislation and internal standards gap analyses
- Assist with organizing files updating safety program documents and other administrative tasks
