The City of Falls Church Recreation and Parks Department is in search of energetic and fun-loving applicants for multiple part-time temporary positions to operate the 2026 Summer Camps.
The City of Falls Church is an independent city six miles from the nations capital. It is small in area (2.2 square miles) and population (about 16000 people). The City is known for its urban village community quality customer service nationally ranked school system environmental activism and endless community activities.
- Responsibilities
Counselors are needed to assist the Extended Care Director in operating the Extended Care program for children 5 to 12 years old. Counselors are responsible for supervision of all program attendees organization of daily activities and enforcement of all program policies and procedures. - Qualifications
Applicants must be at least 18 years old. Courses completed in child development and experience leading childrens playgroups are desired. Applicants must have or be willing to complete CPR and First Aid certification before June 8 2026. - Hours
The Counselors work between 25 to 40 hours per week Monday through Friday June 8 through August 21 2026. Work hours are 6:45 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. - Salary
Counselors working the split shift (both morning and afternoon) earn $18.50 per hour. Counselors working only the morning or afternoon shift earn $17.50 per hour. This is a part time temporary position with no fringe benefits.
