Job Summary

Position SummaryAssist the Executive Director of Facilities with the strategic leadership operational management and long-term planning of Sacred Heart Universitys buildings infrastructure and grounds. This role ensures safe reliable efficient and sustainable environments that support the Universitys mission and its growing academic residential and athletic footprint. Responsibilities include oversight of maintenance custodial services mechanical and electrical systems and environmental health and is a fulltime onsite leadership role with responsibilities across the full campus Duties & ResponsibilitiesServe as liaison to internal stakeholders including academics athletics student affairs and external partners and subcontractors/ facilities operations support the Universitys Catholic identity mission and commitment to community daily operation maintenance and cleaning of all campus buildings grounds and mechanical/electrical proper operation of HVAC and monitoring plumbing electrical and structural systems across all the campus-wide work order system and preventative maintenance inspections testing and compliance for critical systems (e.g. fire alarms sprinklers elevators).Assists in supervising maintenance custodial grounds and contracted service teams; provide direction coaching and performance staffing plans training programs and safety protocols for facilities a professional serviceoriented culture aligned with the Universitys manage and monitor annual operating budgets for efficient use of allocated funds and implement costeffectiveness and evaluate bids; coordinate contractor activities; monitor project benchmarks quality cost and schedules for facilities related work/ in general oversight & implementation of the building maintenance collaboration with the capital projects department assist in the evaluation and execution phases for the defined building assessments program as with University leadership to maintain and update longrange campus development other duties assigned by Executive Director and/or VP of Construction & Facilities ManagementKnowledge Skills Abilities & Other AttributesAn associates or bachelors degree; in management or related field leadership experience managing diverse facilities staff and contracted knowledge of mechanical electrical plumbing HVAC life-safety and buildingautomation planning budgeting and organizational with sustainability initiatives capital planning and longrange communication negotiation and stakeholder management -average computer proficiency required to effectively manage procedures correspondence newsletters and similar Facility Manager (CFM) or Project Management Professional (PMP) credentials are state drivers license with clear motor vehicle record Working ConditionsMission-driven environment requiring flexibility beyond standard business hours. Requires on-call availability for emergencies weather events and urgent facility issues.
