Duties:
As an integral member of the Pharmacy Department the responsibilities of the Administrative Coordinator include:
- Managing departmental operating budgets
- Coordinating and completing financial billing and payment activities
- Providing direct supervision for assigned personnel
- Ensuring the efficient operation of the office
- Preparing statistics for and conducting audits of departmental activities
- Performing cross-functional duties as assigned and/or requested; perform other duties consistent with the job classification as required.
Qualifications :
- Completion of Grade XII or recognized equivalent required.
- Completion of a recognized medical or business post secondary office administration diploma program or recognized equivalent required.
- Five (5) years related office administration support experience required.
- Previous on-the-job computer/word-processing database and spreadsheet software experience required.
- Previous supervisory experience preferred.
- Experience in a Microsoft Office environment preferred.
- Experience working in a health care environment an asset.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills required.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills required.
- Very good verbal and written communications skills required.
- Ability to produce high quality work in accordance with Hospital standards required.
- Strong knowledge of Pharmacy Department practices procedures and standards required.
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently under pressure required.
- Ability to use good judgment in assessing difficult situations required.
- Ability to effectively handle confidential matters and materials required.
- Knowledge of medical terminology an asset.
