Summary:
Mistick Construction a leading Pittsburgh-based general contractor specializing in multi-family housing elder care facilities residential and commercial construction is seeking a carpenter finisher with a minimum of 5 years of framing and trim carpentry lead experience to be a part of our construction team.
Essential Functions:
- Ensure that the correct materials are collected before beginning a job.
- Building items such as shelves doors windows counters and other carpentry projects to the correct scale and dimensions.
- Work from sketches and drawings as well as verbal and written descriptions of whats required to complete the job to the right specifications.
- Make adjustments to projects installing windows and doors and following blueprints.
- Dismantle and demolish designated items before carrying out repairs or inputting new materials.
- Comfortable working as part of a team and have the strength and stamina to work long hours and lift heavy materials.
Knowledge Skills and Requirements:
- A minimum of 5 years of framing and trim carpentry experience.
- Ability to read blue prints and understand schedules.
- Precision to take accurate measurements and make precise cuts.
- Great hand-eye coordination to avoid injuries and damage to materials
- Strong attention to detail organizational time-management and problem-solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
- Ability to read write understand and communicate in English.
- An assertive detail oriented self-starter preferred.
- May include evening and weekend hours depending on the project.
- Ability to work in outdoor weather conditions as needed.
- Reliable transportation and a valid drivers license are required.
- All new hires are subject to eVerify processing and must pass a drug test and physical.
Education & Experience:
- High School Diploma required.
- Carpenter Apprenticeship or Associates Degree is a plus.
- Extensive knowledge and competency with carpentry methods tools and procedures.
