About the Role
We have 2 posts available to use pro-active and interventionist casework to promote good lawful behaviour and support landlords and tenants with both new and existing regulations. We will be continuing to pursue prosecutions for illegal eviction as well as addressing new offences brought in by the Renters Rights Act representing one of the most significant changes in the private rented sector for decades with the Council picking up new responsibilities in the policing of new offences.
Please note that the needs of the service are such that the post is primarily office based.
Interviews will take place on the week commencing 9th March so we would ask you to advise at application if there are days you are unable to be interviewed that week
About You
Candidates will be able to provide advice promote rights and responsibilities wherever possible using their sound knowledge of relevant law in the sector.
Covering a wide range of subject areas youll help make sure that a diverse client group gets fair and legal treatment in the sector.
The ideal candidates will have:
Good knowledge understanding and awareness of private rented housing legislation and its application or a willingness to learn
The experience of prioritising and managing a caseload
The ability to deliver objective advice and enforce penalties as necessary in line with Council policy
Experience of engaging with and informing stakeholders about relevant subject areas
