Job Summary

3 months contract with a local authority

Job Purpose

  • The Housing Resettlement Officer acts as a caseworker for housing applicants owed the main housing duty. The role provides advice guidance and practical assistance to help applicants resolve their housing issues and move on from temporary accommodation into appropriate settled housing.

Key Duties/Accountabilities

  • Provide a dedicated empathetic service to clients owed the main housing duty.
  • Assess housing and support needs removing barriers to accessing suitable longterm accommodation.
  • Develop update and review Personalised Housing Plans to support clients in securing settled housing.
  • Carry a caseload of homelessness cases and ensure all statutory duties are met.

Essential Experience Required

  • Experience working with homeless households or within housing needs services.
  • Experience carrying out assessments and casework under homelessness legislation.
  • Experience providing housing advice and support to vulnerable individuals.
  • Experience engaging with landlords external agencies and support services.

Essential Qualifications Required

  • Knowledge and practical understanding of the Housing Act 1996 Part VII the Homelessness Code of Guidance and related case law.
  • Understanding of welfare benefits social care frameworks and safeguarding responsibilities.
  • Full clean UK driving licence.

  • Working hours: 37 hours per week
  • Trinity House 20 Church St Maidstone Kent ME14 1LY United Kingdom
  • Work pattern - 1 day at Home- Wednesdays. 4 Days in Trinity
  • Full Time 5 days a week - 4 of these at Trinity and Weds Working from Home.
  • We work on Bi weekly payment schedule
