Provides leadership and direction through EHS engineers. The role is accountable for the performance and results of Applied Materials Northern Taiwan. Executes EHS programs and take actions through strategic plans to enhance EHS management in customers fabs located in Northern Taiwan.
Manages and directs the activities of the EHS function and staff. Coach mentor and supervise EHS engineer to implement the EHS programs to minimize the risks to employees customers. Drive field EHS actions plan through well aligned plan and strategy leading team members to improve performance to acquire recognition of internal and external customer. Communicates EHS issues to all necessary management and employees. Generates necessary reports and documentation. Ensures customers satisfaction via support of field operations and prompt resolution of critical issues and problems as well as strong communication within Applied Materials. Actively lead team to interact or communicate with Asia or Corporate EHS group in handling EHS issues or understanding newly released company-wide procedures and policies. Regularly communicate and meet with management of field service team and stakeholders to support their need and ease EHS concern. Communicates effectively with business units to report safety events escalate issues and present solutions Supervises direct reports in their assigned activities with specific responsibility for staffing technical leadership within the group staff professional/managerial/ leadership skills and career development. Periodically check teams work performance to ensure appropriate assignment measurable and evaluable outcome through 1:1 and HRs guideline. Support Taiwan EHS head through budget management bugs shooting EHS program promotion team work special project implement update work status in time and finish special assignment and so on. Maintain communication channel with field service team. Ensures that specific projects assigned are completed as planned to meet customer goals. Provides management with updates and escalation on projects/programs. Ensures proper investigations of accident / incidents conducted for EHS events and drives corrective actions. Ensures development and implementation of EHS programs and continuous improvements to reduce EHS risks and incidents. Ensures development and implementation EHS training programs Lead a team to execute field contractor management plan through continuous improvement. To observe evaluate work safety and find NORM in person at customer fabs based on risk level procedures policies and BKM. Ensure Applied site and field service work complying with Taiwan OSHA requirements and Applied requirements in EHS discipline. Monitor and update status of EHS program systematically and periodically. Properly review Job Hazard Analyses (JHA) regarding field service scope to proactively identify and mitigate risks. Conducts thorough incident investigations using methodologies such as 8D Human and Organizational Performance (HOP) Operational Learning and other root cause analysis tools. Recommends and tracks corrective and preventive actions. Support other sites or other region EHS work based on business assignment.
- Well-versed in EHS knowledge and Taiwan OSHA regulation regarding with work in the office and fab.
- Rich experience on EHS implement at workplace.
- Rich EHS Knowledge in related toxicity chemistry physics and biology.
- Familiar with operation and maintenance of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
- Easily to deliver key concept of building safety culture with priority through connecting EHS with field service work.
- Absolutely correct and positive mindset of Environmental health and safety.
- Excellent skill for communication and being interface with Applied employee and customer
- Excellent skill for putting information in order/ event description / root cause investigation / data analysis and summary
- Excellent skill in Microsoft office program features and AI app. to complete work efficiently and precisely
- Must lead 3-4 EHS team members to support EHS management and requirements from internal and external customers.
- Lead whole team to reach regional EHS KPI through well-organized plan and well-aligned strategy
- Actively communicated with Corp EHS group to handle EHS related issues.
- Be valuable partner of stakeholders to make higher contribution to company together.

- Understanding knowledge in Chemistry physics biology and toxicology related to EHS.
- Sufficient knowledge in industrial hygiene concepts such as performing exposure assessment identifying mitigating controls hazard identification SDS and PPE but also the relationship between occupational hazards and employee health management.
- Sufficient knowledge in mechanical safety electrical safety and fire prevention.
- 8 years or above in EHS work experience including 4 years or above experience on contractor management.
- 3 years or above on leading team
- 4 years or above EHS work experience in semiconductor / display manufacturing company
