Pete Fowler Construction seeks a Human Resources Generalist. This is a newly created position and we seek someone to serve as the engine room of our Personnel Department with an emphasis on day-to-day execution of the Personnel Plan. The HRG will report to the Human Resources Manager and partner with the Corporate Recruiter to maintain and update personnel policies and procedures that will protect our company and our employees in compliance with state and federal regulations. They will serve as a liaison in dispute resolution and assist managers in monitoring and documenting performance. TheHRG must also possess a positive attitude and project a positive image of the organization.
Responsibilities
- Conduct new hire orientations to ensure a seamless transition into the company culture.
- Primary responsibility for maintaining employee records in compliance with state/federal laws.
- Assist the HRM in researching and updating the employee handbook to stay current with multi-state regulations.
- Ensure all training and continuing education records are up to date.
- Execute multi-state payroll and troubleshoot employee inquiries.
- Serve as the first point of contact for employees regarding health insurance 401(k) and leave requests.
- Help managers monitor milestones and collect performance evaluations.
- Act as the first line of contact for general employee grievances before escalating complex issues to the HRM.
- Help coordinate initiatives to foster culture and positive morale.
- Coordinate the regular update and continuous improvement of training(s) on personnel topics i.e. training pages associated with policies managers personnel procedures etc.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Human Resources role in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.
- Relevant education and certification(s) preferred i.e. bachelors degree SHRM-CP PHR etc.
- Superior communication interpersonal diplomacy managerial and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Personality: self-motivated and proactive positive attitude.
- 1-3 years experience managing conflict and resolving disputes.
**This is a fully remote role with preference given to those in or near Little Rock or Nashville.
