About the Role

The Student Learning Support Officer assists and supports the classroom teacher working under their direction. Applications are invited from qualified Student Learning Support Officers with a strong commitment to Christian Education. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic keen to engage and inspire our students enabling them to achieve their God-given potential.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with building an effective learning environment by working with teachers to support a differentiated curriculum that meets varying learning styles.
• Assist students with school routines and classroom activities.
• Assist with the implementation of the health care plans and individual education programs of students to support their engagement in learning activities.
• Provide individualised or small group instruction.
• Note: the classroom teachers are responsible for the education control and behaviour management of the students.

Selection Criteria

The ideal candidate will:

• Have an active Christian faith with regular involvement in a local church and a commitment to the mission vision and values of WCCS including the Statement of Faith.
• Hold a Certificate III in Education Support (or be actively working towards this qualification).
• Hold a Working With Children Check (or be willing to obtain).
• Display high-level written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrate ability to work as part of a team.
