Summary of Job Duties:

The successful applicant will use molecular biology plant physiology microscopy and basic genomics skills to conduct experiments on gene expression assays sequence analysis of herbicide target genes herbicide resistance assays and data analysis. We are looking for a plant scientist with an academic background in cell and molecular biology to work with research staff and graduate students to address research questions on weed adaptation to herbicides and environmental stresses. The incumbent will also be responsible for processing and presenting data at professional meetings participate in development of grant proposals and writing and publishing results in appropriate journals in collaboration with other researchers on the project.


Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. in the plant breeding or quantitative genetics with experience in quantitative genetics methods including molecular markers and plant phenotyping and familiarity with functional genomics technologies and analysis.

Preferred Qualifications: Additional experience in statistical analysis of large datasets genome-wide association analysis Knowledge Skills & Abilities Experience in growing rice screening for abiotic stress. Strong written and oral communication skills.
