LOCATION: London Salford Newcastle or Glasgow Hybrid
PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: Up to 85000 depending on relevant skills knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights. Please note an additional allowance (London Weighting) of 5441 will be applied to the London office only.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

As a Lead Product Analyst you will lead a diverse team of product analysts to produce insights that will drive digital product strategy across the BBC working closely with colleagues and stakeholders across Product Engineering Data Science and more.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT

  • Define and deliver the Product Analytics strategy in partnership with leaders across Data Engineering Architecture and Product ensuring strong collaboration across all groups.
  • Build and lead a diverse team of analysts creating an inclusive environment where everyone can contribute fully and produce high quality insights that drive meaningful action.
  • Provide expert guidance on analytical methods and lead deep dive analysis that shapes product strategy informs roadmaps and identifies opportunities to improve audience experience and engagement.
  • Champion the value of data in decision making by promoting experimentation insight driven thinking and greater use of data across the Product Group and the wider organisation.
  • Strengthen and evolve data analysis capabilities by understanding the Product Groups data needs leading projects that support company priorities and improving self service tools to enable data informed decisions across the organisation.

YOUR EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

Essential

  • Experience leading and managing a team of data analysts developing individuals and teams to achieve their full potential and driving value through data and insight
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment in order to deliver insights that can influence the direction of the business
  • Great communication skills and the ability to translate technical information for non-technical audiences at all levels of the organisation
  • Ability to think strategically and a passion for producing high-quality accurate analytics deliverables
  • Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders across multipledisciplines managing expectations of senior colleagues and navigating conflicting priorities and pressures
  • High levels of logical thinking and problem solving skills
  • A keen advocate for the role of data in driving business performance

Desirable

  • Experience working in a digital product focused analytical role in a customer-centric organisation
  • Familiarity with agile or other rapid application development methods
  • Understanding of data pipelines and/or data modelling
  • Experience with Data Science & Machine learning
  • Understanding of how digital products use experimentation and experience with A/B testing
  • Knowledge of R or Python
