Job Summary:The Construction Portfolio Manager leads a team of Project Managers and Field Coordinators within the Construction Administration group of the Department of Campus Development who execute a portfolio of projects primarily consisting of a specific type of construction or specific user group. Ensures each projects budget scope and schedule are effectively managed and will interface with multiple levels at the University and with external partners including General Contractors Subcontractors Architects Engineers and others.

Additional Department Summary:Manages a team of construction staff including multiple levels of Project Managers and Field Coordinators. The Portfolio team is responsible for managing projects primarily within a specific type of construction or relating to a specific user group.

Ensures proper procedures are followed and construction projects within the Portfolio team remain on schedule within budget and adhere to contract documents and UA quality standards while minimizing disruptions to campus. Provides guidance to ensure all University policies as well as Title 39 Title 41 and Board Rule 415 are followed and reviews various construction related documents for adherence to these required parameters.

Provides direct management of the full life-cycle of select capital projects and related construction activities. May provide preparation or first-line review of any required Board of Trustee submissions for projects within their portfolio team.

Required Minimum Qualifications:Bachelors degree and seven (7) years of construction engineering and/or project management experience; OR masters degree and five (5) years of construction engineering and/or project management experience.

Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must have valid U.S. drivers license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.

Final candidates must submit to and successfully pass a post-offer drug screen.

Skills and Knowledge:Strong communication and leadership skills to interact with multiple levels of team members ranging from entry-level to highly experienced. Strategic and analytical thinking skills. Ability to solve problems and make decisions that adhere to applicable policies and procedures. Ability to read construction documents and specification manuals. Ability to prioritize multiple objectives.

Preferred Qualifications:Considerable and progressively more responsible experience in the field of construction management some of which shall have included recent experience in a public institution. Understanding of CAD/REVIT and GIS technology. Experience leading teams.
