MOBILE EQUIPMENT OPERATOR HEAVY- 2 ROCKEFELLER WILDLIFE REFUGE
The incumbent of position should possess skilled and semi-skilled abilities to perform duties at the 70000 acre Rockefeller Wildlife Refuge in coastal southwest Louisiana. The refuge has over 200 miles of waterways approximately 150 miles of levees (which provides a controlled environment within wildlife management units) and over 40 water control structures. This job also requires the incumbent to work at other Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries properties on occasion including the 70000-acre White Lake Wetlands Conservation Area in Vermilion parish. The Refuge is in a coastal environment in which mosquitos and other pests are common. Climatic conditions and semi-fluid soils unique to this area make the job physically demanding. The incumbents job requires lifting objects over 50 pounds and work periodically demands endurance.
Three years of experience in mobile equipment operations.
