We currently have an opening for a User Support Manager I
This position may be eligible for hybrid remote work in accordance with state policy and the agencys remote work program but does require weekly onsite work
This vacancy is open to current North Carolina state government and current UNC System employees only or previous NC state government and UNC System employees with unexpired RIF priority re-employment rights. Current temporary employees working in NC state government or in the UNC System will also be considered.
Key Responsibilities:
This position serves as the Eastern Field Desktop Support Manager for Client Services. Providing management oversight and governance our teams provide our customers with the best possible service by being dependable responsive and by taking ownership of each customers service request as well as managing the delivery and development of IT commodity products and services to end users. These staff members provide knowledge and skills in the different types of computer hardware software peripherals and components networking protocols and communications.
About the Division:
This position is in DIT-Transportation and provides IT services to the NC Department of Transportation (DOT). Within the Transportation Division the Business Relations Management (BRM) unit provides strategic planning research consulting and the implementation of process improvement actions that will administer industry best practices following all State and DOT policies and standards.

Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelors degree in computer science or an IT related field from an appropriately accredited institution and four years of progressive experience in the information technology field
OR
Associate degree in computer science or an IT related field or related technical degree from an appropriately accredited institution and five years of progressive experience in the information technology field
OR
High School or GED and eight years of progressive experience in the information technology field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
