The Merchandise Program Manager supports the planning coordination and day-to-day execution of Austin PBS retail merchandising and e-commerce activities with a special focus on the legendary Austin City Limits music television series as well as the broader Austin PBS family of brands.
Working directly with and for the Merchandise Director this role helps ensure that all merchandise reflects the unique identity of each program connects with fans and audiences and supports Austin PBSs mission to educate inspire and entertain. The Merchandise Program Manager supports product creation inventory management e-commerce operations and on-site sales across Austin PBS events and productions.
This position will be an employee of Austin City Limits New Ventures a subsidiary of Austin PBS.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supports e-commerce operations order fulfillment and inventory tracking product creation development and production of new merchandise for Austin PBS brands and programs such as Central Texas Gardener Overheard with Evan Smith Austin InSight and future Austin PBS Originals.
- Operates roughly 18-20 Austin City Limits television tapings a year at ACL Live at the Moody Theater including setting up operating and breaking down the on-site merchandise booth as well as managing merchandise booths for Austin PBS events and community activations including training and supporting volunteer or temporary event staff.
- Executes merchandising strategies that align with Austin PBSs brand goals and customer insights.
- Operates day-to-day business tasks track and report on sales and inventory data and supporting informed decision-making by the Merchandise Director.
- Operates the Austin City Limits commemorative poster program including coordination with artists printers and venue staff to ensure proper handling sales and documentation.
- Coordinates with vendors suppliers designers and partners to produce and restock merchandise.
- Transports merchandise between Austin PBS offices storage facilities and event venues as needed.
- Maintains accurate records of product quantities pricing and transactions across platforms.
- Provides excellent customer service to fans and attendees at live events.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience in retail merchandising or e-commerce operations.
- Strong organizational and communication skills with high attention to detail. Proactively seeks solutions to problems.
- Demonstrated maturity good judgment and a high degree of integrity and trustworthiness in decision-making and daily interactions.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Availability to work events during evenings and weekends.
- Ability to lift boxes up to 30 pounds and stand for extended periods.
- Experience with e-commerce tools such as Shopify Amazon Seller Central and Square preferred.
- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite or other graphic design tools is a plus.
- Interest in public media and knowledge of Austin PBS programs and the Austin City Limits brand preferred.
- Passion for music storytelling and community engagement.
This is a full-time salaried position that is currently hybrid with an annual salary of $70000.
