About the Role

The Clinical Nurse Educator provides support and clinical development/ training to staff while fostering a preceptor/mentor role. The role formulates coordinates and evaluates unit based educational programs; assessment and demonstration of clinical procedures.
The aim of the position is to use a participation methodology to build:

  • The capacity of individuals to deliver safe evidenced based care incorporating reflective practice with the aim of continual improvement.
  • A patient and family focused culture that supports the NUM and staff to deliver innovative models of care and proactively manage change.
  • The position contributes to the overall improvement of health service delivery.

Ideal Candidate

  • Current nursing registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA).
  • Proven clinical education and leadership experience or advanced neuroscience nursing background.
  • Holds or working towards relevant postgraduate qualification or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience in education; and care delivery models according to patient/service need.
  • Advanced communication and negotiation skills and experience in conflict resolution.
