Students with additional needs are supported through structured interventions specialist teaching assistants and collaborative curriculum planning. The campus includes dedicated intervention rooms learning support spaces and specialist SEN facilities. Leadership is proactive and forward-thinking investing in professional development and inclusive teaching practices.

Due to expansion of provision and strategic development the school is seeking an experienced and dedicated SENCO.

Role Overview

The SENCO will lead and coordinate SEND provision across the school ensuring high-quality support for students with additional needs.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading implementation of the SEND policy

  • Managing EHCP processes and reviews

  • Coordinating interventions and targeted support

  • Supporting staff with differentiation strategies

  • Monitoring progress of students with SEND

  • Managing teaching assistants and intervention staff

  • Liaising with parents and external agencies

  • Ensuring compliance with SEND Code of Practice

  • Contributing to safeguarding and pastoral meetings

  • Reporting to SLT and Governors

This is a leadership-level position requiring strong organisational skills and a commitment to inclusive excellence.

SEND Team Information

The SENCO leads a team of teaching assistants and learning mentors. The school works closely with educational psychologists speech and language therapists and local authority services.

Candidate Requirements

  • QTS and SEND qualification (or willingness to complete NASENCO)

  • Proven experience in SEND leadership

  • Strong knowledge of SEND legislation

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills

  • Ability to manage budgets and resources

  • Commitment to inclusion and safeguarding
