Role title

Maintenance Production Planning Specialist

Your role

As a Maintenance Production Planning Specialist in the Maintenance & Engineering Department you will report to the Production Planning Manager. The Production Planning Specialist will coordinate the activities of Technical Planning and Line Maintenance to achieve maintenance task requirements with minimum impact on the Flight schedule. Our Maintenance & Engineering Department helps us to drive Aer Lingus ambition by scheduling production planning therefore ensuring all required resources are available for the planned maintenance at each location.


Your responsibilities as a Maintenance Production Planning Specialist will include:

  • Collaborate with various stakeholders including Line Maintenance Supervisors Materials Tooling Short term Planners MCC and Network to understand the maintenance requirements and develop comprehensive production plans.
  • Analyse and review aircraft maintenance schedules work demands and resource availability to develop achievable and efficient production plans.
  • Liaise with the materials and tooling teams to ensure the availability of required materials tools and equipment for planned maintenance activities.
  • Identify potential bottlenecks constraints and risks in the production process and develop contingency plans to mitigate them.
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production planning such as schedule adherence turnaround time and resource utilization.
  • Manage internal projects to improve processes and performance working together with peers.
  • Attend the daily meetings to determine the work to be carried out during that day and overnight.
  • Co-ordinate the evaluation of any new tasks that are proposed by Technical Engineering / Planning.
  • Support the Dublin Station Manager in reviewing the deferred Minimum Equipment List (MEL) Configuration Deviation List (CDL) RITs and unscheduled maintenance items and ensure that all required maintenance actions are planned correctly.
  • Liaise closely with operations to ensure that ground times are optimised for maintenance opportunities.
  • Work together with CAMO to ensure that all tasks in AMOS (scheduled tasks / EOs and Component Changes) have estimated hours against them.

Your qualifications and key criteria

We are looking for an individual with experience / qualifications in the following areas:

  • Minimum of 5 years or experience with Production Planning or CAMO Planning.
  • Possess an appropriate third level qualification or an EASA Part 66 Category Licence.
  • Be prepared to work day shifts covering a 7-days a week operation whenever necessary.
  • Well-developed IT skills with broad system/IT knowledge: Microsoft Excel Word Power Point.
  • Strong working knowledge of AMOS.
  • Be in possession or be able to pass a strict airport security vetting procedure which includes a 5-year background check* (or be in possession of a current airside pass for the airport this position is based in Dublin).
  • Able to work unsupervised but also be a team player who will grasp opportunities to exceed the expectations of internal customers.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships.
  • Excellent attendance and punctuality record.
  • An enthusiastic team member with a flexible and positive attitude to work effectively in an ever-changing environment.
  • Drive the sense of urgency on high issues as they occur.
  • Data focused to drive exceptional results and accountability.
  • Flexibility to adapt to different working situations changing priorities and stakeholders.

  • Proven ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast paced Line Maintenance Environment.
  • Fluent in English both written and spoken.
  • Eligible to live and work in the EU with a current unrestricted worldwide passport & a full clean driving licence.

Desirable criteria
