Job Summary
This is recreation leadership work in the area of assignment assisting in the development and execution and evaluation of recreation services and programs. Duties are performed in collaboration with a supervisor within established guidelines practice and policies. Independent judgement is exercised on individual aspects of the program. Supervision including guidance and mentoring of staff is required. Work performance is monitored and reviewed by a supervisor in terms of the effectiveness of services rendered.
The Training Manual Requirements pre-qualifications for this position are:
- Completion of 4 post secondary courses in Community Recreation or related discipline.
- Pool Operator Level 1
- CPR & First Aid Instructor to include AED Certification
- Six Months supervisory experience or courses in leadership and/or supervision
- One year full time equivalent experience in the area of assignment.
The Class Specification requires the following and are job requirement(s).
- Water Safety Instructor Trainer (WSIT)
- Lifesaving Instructor
- NLS Pool
- NLS Waterpark
- Occupational First Aid Level 1
- Valid Class 5 BC Drivers License
