PACU
The PACU Registered Nurse provides post-anesthesia nursing care to patients recovering from surgical and procedural anesthesia. This role requires strong assessment skills rapid clinical decision-making and experience managing patients through Phase I and Phase II recovery in a fast-paced acute care environment.
Day shift
8-hour shifts
Typical hours: Late morning to early evening
No block scheduling
On-call rotation required
Up to four call shifts per month including:
Two weekend call shifts
Two weekday evening/night call shifts
Provide Phase I and Phase II post-anesthesia recovery care.
Monitor airway hemodynamics pain levels and level of consciousness.
Identify and respond to post-operative complications.
Administer medications and treatments per provider orders.
Collaborate with anesthesia providers surgeons and perioperative staff.
Document patient assessments and interventions accurately in the electronic medical record.
Educate patients and families regarding post-procedure recovery and discharge instructions.
Maintain compliance with patient safety infection control and regulatory standards.

General surgery
Orthopedic procedures
Orthopedic/Spine procedures
Total joint replacements
Minimum of 1 year of PACU nursing experience
First-time travelers accepted
Active RN license required
BLS ACLS and PALS certifications required
