Job Summary

**ROLE SPECIALTY** Medical Technologist Clinical Laboratory**Schedule** Variable - 8 hour shifts days evenings or nights **Assignment Details** Contract Weeks: 26 Guaranteed Hours: 32 **Requirements** - Bachelors degree in Medical Technology or a related field required. - Must be board eligible by NCA or ASCP and complete board certification within one year of employment. - One to three years of related or progressively more responsible experience in chemistry blood bank hematology and microbiology or formal student internship. - Certification at MT by American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or CLS by National Accrediting Agency (NCA) within one year of employment. - Clinical laboratory instrumentation experience required. - Must be capable of working independently and providing direction to Medical Laboratory Assistants. **Roles & Responsibilities** - Perform laboratory tests and quality control procedures. - Communicate effectively with physicians nurses and patients regarding test results and laboratory procedures. - Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards in the laboratory. - Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment as needed. - Manage laboratory inventory and supply requisition. **Compliance / Notes** - Private housing is not provided; all housing is in shared units. - No pets allowed. - Airfare is initially paid by the candidate and will be reimbursed upon arrival in Bethel AK. - Flight itinerary information must be provided to at least one week in advance. - New Employee Orientation occurs every Tuesday and Wednesday only. - All travelers are required to show proof of completed COVID vaccinations. - All credentials must be received and cleared by the YKHC recruiter before travel.
