The Title I Intervention Teacher will assist classroom teachers in improving student achievement in reading and/or math of Title I students. The Title I Intervention Teacher will participate in professional development and provide technical support to Professional Learning Communities and other school staff in implementing tiered intervention for students identified as at-risk.
Essential Job Functions:
- Assists school staff with differentiated instruction of reading and/or math subjects.
- Facilitates student-teacher collaboration reading and/or math instruction and the analysis of data to improve student success.
- Participates in Professional Learning Communities data teams and teacher collaboration meetings.
- Assists Title I schools in School Improvement Planning and district school improvement process.
- Facilitates parent involvement activities and outreach for reading and/or mathematics.
- Maintains Title I inventory and other Title I required records.
- Demonstrates and participates in discussions on the use and interpretation of summative formative screening diagnostic and progress monitoring assessments.
- Analyzes student assessment data and uses the results to design and coordinate the implementation of appropriate intervention strategies.
- Adheres to guidelines of confidentiality as outlined in federal and state laws and School Board Policies and Procedures.
- Maintains a record of appropriate attendance and punctuality.
- Serves as an optimal role model for students colleagues and the general public.
- Complies with all district and school policies and regulations.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university.
- Currently possesses a Virginia Collegiate Professional or Postgraduate Professional License within a specific endorsement area(s)
- Minimum of three (3) years of teaching experience preferably in a Title I school setting.
- An acceptable rating of prior teaching experience as applicable.
Preferred
- Prior teaching experience within a public school system
