Reports clinically to the Practice Site Physician(s) and administratively to the Practice Manager/Director.Under the direction of thephysician(s)is responsible forthe coordination and delivery of care for BMG patients. Coordinates and provides professional medical care for BMG patients by:
Assessing the patients medical history and performing physical examinations asappropriate forscope of service of a physician assistant.
Evaluating and treating injuries withinscopeof practice for a physician assistant.
Administering medications and injections as prescribed.
Educating patientsregardinghealth promotion illnesspreventionand disease management.
Documentingcodingand completing diagnosis of patients condition tofacilitateappropriate insurancereimbursement.
Keeps abreast of all pertinent legislation andmaintainsclinicalexpertiseby:
Attending andparticipatingin related seminarsconferencesand educational offerings as approved.
Reading current professional medical and nursing journals.
Developing andmaintainingaffiliation with professional organizations.
Contributes to the overall effectiveness of assigned BMG facility by:
Assistingin planning changes in clinic/office procedures to improve the quality and delivery of health care.
Participating in Quality Improvement programs; monitoring quality and outcomes of carerendered.
Assistingin development and complianceofclinical protocolspoliciesand procedures.
Maintaining current knowledge of all pertinent legislation and relating to physicians and staff.
Communicating with physicians to ensure the quality and timeliness for servicesrenderedto patients.
Completing otherjob relatedduties as assigned.

Attends andparticipatesin department meetings and is accountable for all information shared.
Completes mandatory education annualcompetenciesand department specific education within establishedtimeframes.

Maintains license/certification registration in good standing throughoutfiscalyear.
Direct patient care providersare required tomaintaincurrent BCLS (CPR) and other certifications as required by position/department.
Consistentlyutilizesappropriate universalprecautions protective equipment and ergonomic techniques to protectpatientand self.
Adheres to regulatory agency requirements surveyprocessand compliance.
Complies withestablished organization and department policies.
Available to work overtime in addition to working additional or other shifts and schedules when required.
