We are currently recruiting an Activity Coordinator for a leading hospital in Dublin Ireland.

Mode of Working: On-site
Contract Type: Permanent Full-Time
Hours of Work: 78 hours per fortnight (flexibility required to work weekends)
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain a professional therapeutic rapport with residents promoting trust dignity and respect at all times.
Welcome and encourage residents to participate in activities appropriate to their individual interests abilities and care plans.
Gather relevant information from residents and/or their families regarding personal interests hobbies and skills to support person-centred activity planning.
Collaborate with individual residents to plan tailored activity programmes that meet their therapeutic social and recreational needs.
Organise coordinate and facilitate therapeutic and recreational programmes in collaboration with activity team colleagues.
Plan supervise and accompany residents on suitable outings ensuring safety and adherence to care plans and risk assessments.
Facilitate both group and one-to-one activities adapting approaches to meet individual needs and preferences.
Observe residents general behaviour abilities and responses to activities; accurately document observations in clinical notes and communicate relevant information to nursing staff and the wider multidisciplinary team (MDT).
Participate in audits relating to recreational and activity programmes in compliance with Mental Health Commission regulations.
Maintain professional competence by attending and completing mandatory training and continuing professional development programmes.
Requirements
QQI Level 5 (8 modules) in Healthcare or equivalent qualification is desirable.
A minimum of 6 months experience as an Activities Coordinator Occupational Therapy Assistant or Healthcare Assistant is required.
Previous experience working in a mental health setting is an advantage.
A full clean driving licence is essential.
